Portions of the former BNSF Woodinville Sub in Kirkland, Wa. are already a paved trail, complete with crosswalk signals.
When the weather cooperates, the former GN line along Puget Sound is not only a faster route, it is infinitely more scenic as well. BNSF is of the opinion that " The McMansions " built along the top of the bluffs are partially to blame, as they replaced natural forest land with hard - packed grass, driveways, and roofs that often drain down the bluffs. BTW many of the McMansions pre - date the arrival of "... Californians in the 1990's... ". Some of the houses in Richmond Beach & Shoreline date back to the 1950's & 1960's, and might possibly be better described as " Boeing Mansions".
