Last Run Through Eel River Canyon?

Does anyone know the date of the last run on the NWP through the Eel River Canyon before the big flood cut the Eureka line for the very last time? What was the circumstances? Did they know the flood was coming and tried to vacate? Northbound, Southbound? How many cars? Thanks
