SP5103, you must have been wearing the Sumpter Valley hat.

I got to the Port Kelley curves around 1430 with another railfan from Portland. The light was going to be great if they actually would have arrived when scheduled. Over the radio, we heard about the crew calling about the fire and they were going to bail.
I too headed south around the river and found them sitting dead. All I have to say is KARMA! They should have left the garbage in Hinkle as it wasn't required on the Washy/Ayer subs.
After the clouds rolled in and they were still trying to determine what they were going to do, I bailed and headed home.
Luckily the other railfan stayed at Thrasher's Curve and grabbed a beautiful picture as the sun returned.
