Yes, just like the old days. And there are indeed cruise boats and seaplanes that board on a dock right near where those old rail/steamboat transfers once took place. Funny how the Hagadone Corp. office building (they own the CdA Resort, Resort Golf Course, etc.) actually sits on some of the pilings from an old rail dock. Nowadays, the booming business and luxury center that's growing at Riverstone (Gibbs on the railroad) is just crying out for future light rail service. Ride in from Spokane, Spokane Valley, or even Post Falls, then walk to parks, beaches, dinner, and movies. I've read that Marshall Chesrown, who will be brokering the DeArmond mill property, has no plans of keeping any of the trackage; they want it ripped out ASAP for trails and further development. The way this area is slightly bucking the national real estate trends (Idaho was recently ranked Number 4 among the top states people are moving to), they're going to wish they had kept a right of way into CdA.
