I thought I was the only one thinking this as well. If UP got the UPS contract and RPRC continues to take over switching operations throughout the area, there is really no business and no point for BNSF to continue operating past Stockton towards Richmond.

Just wait until Muir Trestle, The wooden trestle in Pinole and tunnels 2-4 need replacing or upgrading. I can see BNSF throwing in the towel someday. Proof of how useless the Stockton Subdivision is west of Port Chicago lies in the fact that there has never been a detoured UP train via the Stockton Subdivison. BNSF needs UP and Amtrak, not the other way around.
