I haven't had much recent direct experience with RailAmerica, but in general I don't think the independents or holding company roads have any advantage over each other in customer service. Some holding companies provide great customer service and some independents provide not so good customer service.

I will say I think roads who have a more diverse traffic base tend to be more customer driven than those with just one large customer or commodity.
