The Alaska Railroad is several years into building and deployment of CAS. Their site has an intersting overview. GPS World magazine featured this system in their March 2004 edition. For additional information on CAS, Google "collision avoidance system Alaska Railroad" Most of ARR is Direct Traffic Control. Heavier traveled corridors on ARR have signalization.
