Add a GE U8B on an LST headed up the river to the photos I'd like to see. I looked up the specs and there is no doubt they could handle the weight. More than likely it was roll-on, roll-off. Thanks for sharing the information.

Many years ago when I was on a ATSF signal gang one of the signalmen was a Vietnam veteran. He told me that he "won" the draft lottery, so decided to enlist in the Navy figuring that was better than the Army. He was on a large ship off-shore shelling inland Vietnam at first, but ended his tour serving on a PT boat in the Mekong Delta. He said of the initial crew he started with, he was the only one to survive.
