My girlfriend's brother is gay and is married to a really nice guy. I enjoy the company of both of them.
Several of my coworkers are gay. In 2002, I traveled to San Francisco from the East to ride an excursion with ex-SP 2472. One of those coworkers were in San Francisco that same weekend. He invited me to join him and his companion in a gay bar in the City. I accepted the invitation. Not really my kind of place, but I enjoyed helping him celebrate his birthday.
In the same way that one person's preference to fly to Florida for a vacation does not diminish my enjoyment of riding trains in Colorado for my vacation, gays and gay culture take nothing away from me.
