Oh yes, as everyone knows, pink was a fashionable color in the 1950's. My father has a great old pair of pink and black cuff links from the mid 50s.
Regarding views expressed above, please don't jump on the two writers assuming they are anti-gay; they are not. They are just against cultural movements that get in a person's face. As Justice Stewart said, a person has a right to be left alone. There is nothing anti-gay, or anti-anything about wanting to be oneself and not be bothered for it. Indeed, it is what gay people want for themselves. So why do so many go on the offensive and bother those of us not interested in their culture? If I want to learn what an "Apache Whiskey Ride" is then I will visit Polk Street. But since I don't, I will just read about it in the Chronicle and visit other 'hoods more to my liking.
