A function of a museum is to preserve and interpret history. That includes concepts that worked well and those that didn't. In general I would put the Boeing Vertol in the latter group. But, we have to remember that it is the car that allowed streetcar service to survive in San Francisco. In that way it is as important to history as are the PCC cars that preceded it, as are the earlier San Francisco cars we have preserved.
