Re: ARTIC (Anaheim) to Disneyland - UNRELIABLE

Was at DL about 5 years ago (probably for the last time - too expensive and crowded as many others have noted).
The ART shuttles for the hotel area worked, but as noted here the "schedule" can't be counted on. After waiting more than 15 minutes past the supposed arrival time of a shuttle to the park with, supposedly, a 30 minute headway, I looked up the number on my phone and called to complain. They said a driver had not reported for work that morning - sent out another one. So of course we got two at the next schedule time, which was OK because we had 2 buses' worth of passengers by then! And of course the delay meant that we missed the park opening; luckily, it was a non-summer weekday so the early crowd was bearable and fastpasses still available.
Hotel was actually within walking distance of the park, but not easily for one of our party, so the bus was useful. And of course after you've been walking around the parks all day you appreciate having a ride "home."
Hee hee: there was a column in a very old Road & Track complaining about LA transit that pointed out the similarities between Disneyland rides and mass transit - how people drive thousands of miles to get in line and ride a train or a monorail or whatever. And Disney makes people WANT to pay enough to do that and make the company money. So why not lease LA Metro (and OCTA) to Disney? The column suggested monorails from LAX to the lots and surrounding points, and a Space Shuttle to Pasadena? And of course people who in real life would never go near a city bus stand in line at the hotel to get on a shuttle to the park, even with standing room, so is there a teaching experience available here (what's taught now, of course, is that buses can't be counted on).
