Re: Seismic utter nonsense......America's new "can't do" mentality?

Most of this geology of the San Gabriel range is pretty soft compared to the Alps, and is actually quite easy to bore through, hence the dozen of so major water tunnel we've built through the very same "pitfalls"?

The sewer connector project, quietly under construction for 15 years under LA, bored miles and miles of tunnels through the same geology, and is another testament to the engineering feasibility of tunneling in CA coastal geology...... And, since no one was really told much about this project, no one ever noticed those "evil" tunnel trolls burrowing away silently beneath them....and undermining civilization, as we know it..... Go figure?

America's new found "can't do" mentality, because we've been told by fools, and apparently come to believe, that there are actually dangerous "boogey men" that live in deep holes, that might do something terrible, seems a more formidable obstacle to being able to achieve these things, that are routinely done elsewhere, using the vey technologies we invented....?????

Yes, the current 1876 RR tunnel does have many problems, and yes, we can do better than we did back in 1876, with todays technology.....
