CN's acquistion of EJE is facing significant opposition from some weathy communities such as Barrington and Senator Obama and there is no assurance the proposal will succeed. Interesting since the routing would remove some traffic from poorer neighborhoods.
CN's CEO is from the US as are many executives. I don't know that there is much concern about a Canadian corporation owing a US asset.
