Yes, I have fond memories of this restaurant. My favorite item on the HO layout was a replica of Norris-built Central Pacific No. 1, the Gov. Stanford 4-4-0, later the SP No. 3. It's the same loco now at the CSRR in Sacramento. The full-sized loco was in the Stanford Museum for many years before being relocated to Sacto. Few realize it, but CP No. 1 was the first engine on the western portion of the first transcontinental railroad, although not the first steam engine in California. It was shipped to California around the horn.

The restaurant was in a rear portion of the Stanford Shopping Center. In the same center, the McDonalds (I hate to admit I actually ate there) had huge photos on the walls of the Gov. Stanford.

One of the many losses to us rail fanatics, but no restaurant can expect to exist without great food. . . .

Chuck
