What was the tall tale about the castle just east of Tucson?

A family friend lives along the road up to the castle (at the UP track) and has visited the castle, with a story about a dead wife, unfinished staircases, and more.

I rode the UP 844 train by the castle a few years ago, but we focused on the train and route more than the buildings nearby . . .
