It may sound simple to just "fire" up the diesel and go pick it up a few miles away but it is not that simple. Yes, it would be neat if this happened however it is extra unecessary moves for the UP's freight operations along with scheduling around Amtrak scheduled trains on the UP main and also OPR's operations. (the two railroads you would need to work with) It just makes more sense for UP to deliver it on their normal interchange schedule with the OPR.
