ORHF had purchased from the UP a piece of property near the old PTC offices. Funds came through donations and grants. Tri-Met later said that they needed the property for the Milwaukie LRT line. This space was to go towards the relocation of the OPR's yard. In return, Tri-Met assembled property equal in value to our purchase - our current site. There was a small city loan which was paid off last year.
The equipment involved with the OPR include the crew car and auxiliary tender for SP&S 700 along with the Brooklyn turntable which sits on a idler flat the a 89-foot piggy back car. All of the equipment involved in the Oregon Rail Heritage Center operations are within our enclosed property. However, we are working on acquiring additional property adjacent our current site.
