I'm not a truck driver, but I can't count how many times
I've seen cars with loads barely tied to the roof or
hanging out of the trunk.
Just a few weeks ago I came up behind some fool pulling
a rental trailer on the interstate with no lights anywhere.
It was big enough that it hid the back of his car totally,
including the tail lights, brake lights, and turn signals
on his car.
And how many hours do some of these people drive before
getting any rest? IF they even bother. Everybody has
a war story about driving 16-20 hours to get to Grandma's
so they didn't have to buy a motel room for the night.
Then there are the ones reading books or the newspaper,
eating, watching TV or a movie, texting, yakking on the
phone. Everything BUT paying attention to what they are
supposed to.
People can @#$%& about truckers all they want to, but
those guys and gals are far better and safer at what they
do than so many 4-wheeled morons on the road.
(or 2-wheeled, in the case of one Santa Cruz nutjob)
