We have the best Congress that money can buy, so what's that have to do with RR's....?
Maybe, a lot, maybe a little.....
This might also allow triples, and even "super" triples, into states that have managed to keep them off of our already too congested and truck jammed freeways. And increased weights previously approved by "our" Congress have already nearly destroyed our now mostly 50+ year old interstate system, and more truck weight increases will be better for these dilapidated roads how? And, those changes do impact RR's.
The added congestion in our urban areas from these new "truck walls" jamming up even more traffic, on our already gridlocked freeways, may help Amtrak ridership, though.....
