This is one of the most beautiful speeder runs in California, and a significant loss for the field of recreational railroading. Economically inevitable and unavoidable, but truly sad. The view from the bridge at Lake Britton is spectacular, and the vistas of Mt. Shasta are impossible to see anywhere else by speeder. There are short stretches on the line where you are looking down upon vast stretches of continuous forest.
