As I recall, there were some SD-9 locomotives or another type, that had to be brought out thru the forest in the Eel River Canyon, on skids, after the '64 flood. An engineering marvel in itself!
Can anyone remember this and shed some light as to how it was done ?? This was long before MDO's time!
