There has been a number of different things stored on the YW over the last 10 years. There was a string of old UP reefers stored south of the depot in 2007. These all went to scrap after they were pulled out of the YW. The reefers all still had diesel fuel in them, and Court siphoned it all into a tank, which was used to fire the 19 during the 2008 season. Also, Court was going to attempt at pulling the diesel generators off the reefers too and sell the engines, but he never got that far. One reefer managed to get left behind somehow. Court was going to scrap it along with an insulated UP boxcar that somehow found it's way onto the YW, but that got stopped when he got caught by UP trying to scrap cars.
After the Siskiyou shut down. Court tried storing emptied propane cars and plugged the entire line fill of them. But he got in trouble for that, since even when empty propane cars are still considered hazmat, and the YW was excepted track. So those weren't around for very long. That was 2009. Later on a bunch of covered hoppers came, there were about 3 or 4 miles of those. Those cars were around for quite a long time and were owned by GE Capital. Court actually had about 2 or 3 of these cars scrapped while they were sitting in storage. Not sure if GE Capital ever realized this or not.
After the covered hoppers left, all that was left as storage was the old SP/SSW bulkhead flats that had been used for hauling the veneer from Yreka to Medford. Court scrapped 4 or 5 of these cars and sold a few of them off as bridges. Court ended up in a legal battle with UP over these cars, and held them hostage for a while. Court lost the battle. He was caught trying to scrap more of them, along with the old UP reefer and UP insulated box, and had to get them off the property. This was in early 2013.
