I recall this accident lead to the 1972 AAR "Clean Cab" whereby the power / dynamic braking switch was replaced by a separate dynamic brake handle that is a different shape and operates in the opposite direction as the throttle.

I also recall one of the trailing units was an U25B - later one of the two that were rebuilt into U25BE's 6800 and 6801. I remember seeing one of those two going by Dayton Avenue Tower with a welded repair in the cab roof, supposedly from the accident at Cuesta.
