From the aerial in the background of the video, danger to the dam would come from the spillway massively eroding the hill that abuts the end of the dam
But the dam is a rock fill type, not an arch so it doesn't push on the hill, and perhaps the hill is a big rock
As for 'too much" water- shouldn't be a concern- it's plenty strong.
Overtopping from say a dam failure upstream [ a big wave] might dislodge the face rock .
Back several -twenty years? ago there were floods in AZ. Az Highways mag presented a spectacular pic of a [probly concrete] dam on the Gila with huge overtopping
Google Sattelite views will tell you which cities might be in peril.
