They are supposed to begin testing with a Talgo train set at speeds up to 70mph on 2/25 and 2/26.
Every grade crossing involved in the testing (varies each day) has a pair of patrol cars (mostly City of Lakewood police) stationed there. As the train approaches, they pull out with flashing lights to block the crossing to keep people who don't understand that the horns, flashing lights and gates, mean there supposed to stop.
By the way, I was told that the cost was over $400 per day, per patrol car. Wonder how much of that the officers see?
