Some people actually have a passion for working for a RR. That passion has been pretty much beat out of me after 35+ years in the tourist RR industry (which is not where I ever INTENDED to wind up) but my contemporaries that went to work for class 1's (all retired now, dammit) had that passion beat completely out of them much quicker. It can be a rewarding profession despite what the RR Co.'s try to do to their employees - it definitely takes a little more than just the $$$ to make one want to stick it out. I ask myself frequently how and why I ever got into this crazy line of work............
