When considering the most recent ridership numbers it should be noted that the trains weren't running for a few days because of the fires.
Since so many homes in Santa Rosa were destroyed, many of the people who used to live there won't be taking the train for a long time so they'll have a hard time meeting ridership projections.
They should have frequent mid day service. Lots of people travel outside regular am and pm commute times
I imagine the union contract is at least a three year agreement so they can't just impose a one person crew unless they reopen the contract.
It might be possible to buy out some people for low cost since they haven't built up a lot of seniority.
Can anyone who's seen the union contract clarify this?
