Ex-BN, OPRRMS, and I are dinosaurs an "old breed" of actual "hoghead' that "ran' our trains, rather than letting the train "run" us....
I too, am waiting on a lot more information on use of dynamics, mechanical issues, and the rest of the inside facing camera images, and interviews. I am interested especially in the use of dynamics (which I would use here, as I have at similar restrictions on the former SP now ML main down the center of the I-10 down hill toward the restriction on the long elevated bridge over El Monte). There were reports of engine problems, so know the operating modes of the locos, and how they were set up, is one area I would want to look at.
This "spin" doesn't absolve or damn those in the cab. It simply being used to set up another options and opportunities to use it in injury claims.... This self serving line is not about a search for the "truth", it is about the search for "clients" and a percentage of the "settlements".
Now for the bad news. If this line of BS, including that juicy line this "investigator" dropped, came as an excuse from the crew operating in the cab.....and, this is the best they could do.....well? Because the three of us, do kind of constitute an actual "jury" of their "peers", and like Ex-BN, that excuse doesn't really hold much water with me......
