More info, gleaned from Jody Moore's POTB railfan site:

The 701 and 702 came to the POTB in 1979 and operated on the Oregon Coastline Express (not the Oregon Coast Explorer -- my bad...), then on the Spirit of Oregon. The MHRR purchased them in 1997 and sold them to the Burlington Junction Railway (BJRY) in 1998.

I did a search on the Railpictures web site and found several photos of them on the BJRY. They were still in their old Spirit of Oregon color scheme as recently as last year.

The POTB railfan site also shows them in their Oregon Coastline Express color scheme.
