There might be a few old-timers left in Cd'A who lament over what once was--and a few area foamers who will miss things railroading, but most of the old-timers have sold out to Californians who moved up and ran the real estate market to ridiculous price levels in what has become a "resort town". They only care that their view is not spoiled by some old lumber mill (besides, it's evil to cut down trees--after the lumber to build their house is installed). The history of Cd'A will live on at some local historical society and/or museum, which will house all of the old photos and memories. The new residents will only look at them because they are "cool pictures". They will then go back outside and be glad that they don't have to look at all of that old junk in 2008. It's much better to enjoy an overpriced dinner at a trendy eating establishment than to smell or hear some sawmill or to be delayed by a train ambling down the middle of the street.

(Monday--I'm a bit cynical today)
