It would be nice to see Bayshore Roundhouse rebuilt and 4449 be based there but I doubt Portland would let it go. Cost of rebuilding roundhouse and cleaning up toxic land would be very expensive.
There is a huge project called Baylands planned for old Bayshore yard.
I don't know if the roundhouse is on land owned by the developer.
Finally the Caltrasn electrification will allow far more trains on the right of way and I doubt that a 4449 train would be allowed to share the tracks when the project is complete.
