The question is simple - is this ROW wide enough to accommodate 2 tracks of light rail as well as your bike path? All the indications so far is that it is not wide enough. The silent majority in both Marin and Sonoma counties want a real mass transit system, not a stealth doodlebug that runs once in a while and has no potential whatsoever for expansion.

This ROW was preserved 2 decades ago for transit purposes. There is no other corridor for mass transit, unless you want to use eminent domain to cut Sonoma County a new one, mowing down neighborhoods BART style.

The bike enthusiasts are a well organized and effective power bloc. Let them pick on someone their own size - the 800 lb. gorilla in the room which is the highway lobby. Let them carve their bikeway out of the 101 freeway and leave the NWP to rail transit.
