Was this along the segment where 101 is still an "expressway" with all of those ag and rural crossings to get to the 101?
Should rebuild 101 along that segment, and put tracks down middle.....raise speed to 125 mph. like Neil Petersen wanted to do with tilt trains for a 6 hour LA-SF schedule via the Coast, when Phil Anschutz was willing to sell CA the Coast line for a mere $600 million, back in '92..... Can't trust those evil billionaires, though, and our politicians told him he could keep his damned Coast line.....
Reliable, fast, frequent, affordable, intercity and interregional rail passenger services done in a responsible and cost effective way, in corridors experiencing severe and growign congestion with, real demonstrated rail travel demand...... How difficult is it for our State leaders to get that?
I also see that even though the new northbound "commute" scheduled LOSSAN service to Santa
Barbara managed to arrive an hour late on its very first run, it still somehow managed to beat the congested traffic northbound in the morning on the 101?
