Ed—. years ago that was certainly true and may even have been so in the tragic 1963 situation cited and well described above. The 1963 event could well have spurred improvements to the crossings. BTW, another source of trouble is farm equipment being parked parallel too cloose to the ROW and getting side-swiped by the trains. As I said, its the annual farm equipment demolition derby during harvest season.
