I have a couple of problems with two statements related with TRAINS mag.
"1200 gallons of water" for a trip to the canyon? Almost 10 times that...remember that 4960 carries an 18,000 gallon tender that loaded, weighs as much as the locomotive, 155 tons. They usually short filled it at the Canyon from a watercar situated on the wye so as to have enough to get back to WMS.
They are going to display the locomoitves now? That'll be the costliest example of stuffed and mounted steam locomotives ever. This after so much has recently gone into making both of them more efficient.
