AC Transit did have a few H2 fuel cell buses many years ago. Are they still on the property and used? As for the H2 supply, it was a dedicated fueling station for the buses; access by others probably could have been arranged, but it wasn't anything like a public H2 station (drive up and use without prior arrangements). Even with CNG these days, which is much more commonly available than H2, the fueling is usually for centralized fleets and not available to the general public without prior arrangement. And the H2 was industrial product trucked in from natural gas processing plants (on a diesel truck) as with most H2 stations at the time (more than 10 years ago).
Now, H2 locomotives? IMO it would be cheaper and more reliable to just string wires and run electrics, getting the power from whatever "clean" source might be available.
