Perhaps KRK was at the NW Railfan Group meeting a couple of years ago when Tom Payne gave a show on the Reading 2100. I was there, & Mr. PAYNE was just that, as he quoted " Specifications & Processes " for the lifting hooks he designed & built for moving the 2100. Bored us to tears; when we wanted to see Choo - Choo, he showed us hooks & cranes & rigging. My favorite quote of his that evening came when I asked if he ever consulted with other steam programs, specifically Doyle McCormick & 4449. He replied NO, because he didn't want to be held liable for anything he says that may lead to an accident !!! This after he " Impressed " us with his credentials, including a Pressure Vessel & Steam Boiler License.
The above is not to belittle Tom Payne's past successes with Canadian Shortlines, but I do hope the Boys from Ballard have done their research. I'm pretty sure Bryon Cole was at that meeting, too.
