Hi, hope you don't mind me jumping in here, I just discovered this board. A question no one seems to have asked thus far on any forum is, given that Mr. Sanchez seems to have devoted a lot less attention to the track ahead than he should have in his final minutes, did he whistle for the grade crossings at Devonshire and at Chatsworth before reaching CP-Topanga? IDK if this is a "no-blow" area, but even if it was, he still had to put the bell on and off. Whether or not he whistled/belled may help determine the degree to which he was distracted by other things. I'm sure the NTSB will eventually find this out from the engine tapes, if not before from "witnesses" (does one witness a sound?) who may recall the horn being blown. Just my 2 cents.
