Pdxrailtransit: Why do you "hate" Nashville and why is it personal with you?
A $9 Billion transit plan is very ambitious for any metro area and perhaps one could argue that the plan was too big for a metro area of Nashville's size. I read but that it was not the plan was so flawed, but the campaign for the proposal was poorly executed. For example, there was not broad-based support from African-Americans who have supported transit improvement plans in other cities.
It did not help that a major proponent of the plan, Nashville's mayor had an affair. One lesson here is that proponents of big plans for cities need to direct their lustful desires to appropriate recipients.
