I see some of the commenters on that site spout the same nonsense "Oh but it's a good idea" kind of crap.
Of course ANYONE who likes the present CaCAHSR totally misses the points carefully enumerated in the article
Why is there ANY justification whatsoever for a deeply flawed, corrupt and [probably criminally] incompetent project????
Is VArtanoff defending incompetence etc???
If such incompetence was part of "Eisenhower's Interstate" plan, there would be very few miles.
Yes, hiway projects overrun estimates [and I'm not including the Bay Bridge BEatoff, that's a horseturd of a different color]
BUT, those overruns are not a given and have been historically MUCH LESS than, oh say, the Channel Tunnel, subways worldwide, etc
I strongly urge y'all Sunny Brook Farmers to look up the studies by that Scandanavian professor that explain the history of stupid projects. One title IIRC is "Why the Worst Projects Get Built", and there are several others, Australia to Denmark and all the duds in between.
oops gotta go, Tinkerbell is dying and I gotta clap to save her
