The complacency is enough to piss off the Pope! WATCO sucks lemons with their business strategies, and the stateS (yes, that's a deliberate capital use) of Idaho and Washington can't and won't get together as once again, they're more than happy to let the roads suffer the traffic and REPEATED repairs from the massive tonnage hauled on the road. Nobody had the foresight to see the ripple affect from the Staggers Act; and certainly nobody dared contemplate out of this rat maze of railroad tracks just which ones should be/might be more logistical to save. For instance, why the hell when timber is really a lot of $$$ compared to grain, didn't somebody figure it would be possibly a quicker trip taking the loads from Palouse down to Pullman and out to Hooper rather than the long ass trip to Marshall? Again, the rr don't care, the states don't know, and the customer suffers...oh, there's nothing more daunting than your driving being dictated by the slow truck in front of you...especially when you NEED to get somewhere...
