Re: Ever seen a stoplight for a RR crossing? Here's one in Colorado

Several traffic studies have shown that today's distracted motorists do pay more attention to a solid red traffic signal, than they do to simple flashing red lights as used at railroad crossings and some stop sign - controlled intersections. This is why many light - rail lines use traffic signals at road crossings. Remember too that flashing red signals only mean " Stop - then proceed when safe to do so ", whereas a SOLID red signal means " STOP -- until a green signal or flashing yellow arrow appears." ( Which means all school bus signals are incorrect for the intended application )
Did the Espee's Oakdale branch crossing or Hwy. 99 in Stockton, CA., have traffic signals ??? Or only standard crossbucks and flashing red signals ???
