Doctor,
He's really active this week, you may even notice an inverse relationship between these many posts, using multiple handles, and a lack of posts by some others.
This was about something real, about a real train incident, but not really so much about trains... Then we got that big infusion of pure testosterone injected into the thread from our old friend, who may have been breathing in too many fumes at the time.
When there is too much testosterone in the blood stream it can sometimes cause extreme and less than constructive behavioral responses, in otherwise sensible folks.
Ex wives often know about this condition, cops dealing with resisting suspects know about this, anyone who's dealt with overamped bike "advocates" at a public meeting know this, people at bars listening to "Dutch courage" talking know this, and now, we also all know it from this kind of "shoot first" and worry about "blowing your foot of later" set of macho posts. Excess testosterone is a condition that is known to severely impair real intimacy, compassion, common sense, and good judgement.
Some may choose to call it "testosterone induced temporary insanity syndrome" (or TITI'S for short).
There are antidotes to reduce excess testosterone levels. If they can suppress their impulsive behavior, long enough to become caring and compassionate, leading to intimacy and human contact, they might be able to get laid, and that may take care of the problem. If not, and that excess testosterone level often continues to rise, and they may never get laid again. Which, sadly, may already be the case with at least some of these folks.
A good hobby can sometimes distract them, and help too....like trains.
