The "Heritage Fleet" refers to Amtrak cars rebuilt to be powered/heated with Head-End Electric Power, not steam. In the East, the Broadway, Lake Shore, Capitol Limiteds and the Silver Meteor and Silver Star were the major Heritage Fleet trains. For Western trains, the older cars were replaced with Superliners. One exception would have been the short-lived Spirit of California which was equipped with Heritage Fleet sleepers.

You have freight railroads in plural. What other railroad besides the Santa Fe got SDP40Fs for freight service?
