"Its one thing to complain that Bart's oddball gauge (not to mention the oddball propulsion voltage) was ill-advised because it has driven the price of new cars out of sight by making them custom orders. I agree with you, the riders couldn't give a Flying Fickle Finger of Fate about the track gauge, but just think of what could have been done if Bart had chosen Brunel's 7' gauge . . ."

The decision to build BART to broad gauge was made back in the 1960s. Unless Mouse wants to pay out of pocket to re-gauge the system, the broad gauge will exist for the rest of BART's existence. Give this "bechtel gauge" chit a effing rest already.
