SMART will likely evolve toward light rail conditions as they seek more passengers. The losses will balloon as they extend north into very limited patronage potential but more mileage costs.

The Larkspur situation should prove interesting soon with really a bunch of unknowns. Rail-ferry connection in Marin has not been done since the late thirties.
