One would think (hope) that the contradictions in the radical environmental stance would be obvious, but apparently not.

They oppose coal and nuclear, instead touting wind energy. Yet, they oppose windmills and try to shut down the ones already in operation. They don't want more dams, and are trying to get rid of the ones already there. They tout solar, then block any installations. They want more clean electricity from whatever source, but then block the building of transmission lines to deliver it. They want more people forced to use transit, but block efforts to build new lines or reactivate dormant ones. They want pristine forests but don't want the bugs that are killing the trees bothered, much less killed.

They want it both ways, and so far have pretty much had it both ways. Endless lawsuits and protests may not stop things from being built or being torn down, but they vastly increase the cost, the amount of time consumed, and level of frustration.

I don't understand why more people can't see through this long-running environmental flim-flam job. will we have to decline to third-world status before people wake up? It's one thing to be environmentally aware and strive to do the right thing; it's quite another to want to pull us down to a primitive level of living.
