And what is the difference in useful or perceptible resolution to your eye? Unless you're making billboard sized prints, there isn't any. Projected on a screen, you can't tell the difference between a properly exposed slide and a digital image that were shot with the same lens.
There's a reason more people are re-discovering film or picking up a film camera for the first time. Digital photography is superior to film yet it lacks something chemical photography has in abundance. I've owned a 5D Mark II for a year and a half. With the exception of shooting the occasional video, it collects dust. The EOS-1V and EOS-3 backed up by an A2 serve me just fine.
Oh and never mind the unproven long-term storage gamble with going all-digital.
