Wow! That answers that question... Thank you OPRRMS, for your usual diligence. A mainline ground throw? A target, even on that ground throw, might have served as a reminder.

I guess we were a bit "spoiled" from working for an SP that, during our careers at least, still seems to have had a legacy of much higher standards of railroad engineering for these sorts of things.....
